Welcome to the Information and instructions area for the 2 seater spitfire.

Gauges information
The auto installers are setup to install all gauges *unless* you already have them . They contain stock gauges as well. At no time do our auto installers over write stock gauges/other gauges. If your stock gauges have been modified this installer WILL NOT overwrite them. Therefore if the gauges look odd that is most likely due to the modified stock gauges. If your gauges have been inadvertently deleted then this installer will re install " clean " MS gauges. If you install to a temporary directory you can choose which gauges to use or in fact put the gauges into the two seater panel folders.

FSX information
The Auto installers will automatically put all files needed into their correct areas. Please note that this file is an FS9 model and as such may have problems with FSX. The gauges in the installer are older FS9 spec gauges. If you dont allow them to run then you will not get the same amount of gauges as the FS9 version.

To open the engine compartment you must have set your Tailhook retract/extend key to a keyboard shortcut. We use caps-lock but remember to turn it off after your flightsimming!!

Griffon sounds

A zip file has been made available with some alternative sounds. Please extract the sounds to the HFL_Spit_MkIXTPupil folder in your aircraft folder of Fs2004. Steps are outlined below.

1. Assuming that your Fs2004 directory is in the default location ( c:\program files\Microsoft Games\FS2004\...) navigate to the aircraft folder.

2. Select the HFL_Spit_MkIXTPupil folder.

3. Backup by copying, the sound folder to a safe location so that you can go back to the original versions.

4. Unzip the Griffon_sound zip file to a temporary folder ( c:\temp is a good place )

5. Open up the Griffon sound folder and copy the sound folder found there.

6. Paste the sound folder into the HFL_Spit_MkIXTPupil folder allowing all files to over-write.

7. Start up Microsoft Flight simulator 2004.

8. If for any reason you wish to go back to the original files then reverse the process but use the backed up versions instead of the Griffon sounds.
